Joe Fotheringham Appointed as Senior Vice President of Creative
The team at Tommy are thrilled to announce that Joe Fotheringham has joined Tommy, as our new creative lead.
Responsible for reinventing Apple with ‘Shot on iPhone’, creating new communities with HP, and helping HBO viewers experience Westworld IRL, Joe brings a wealth of exciting experience as we look to build on the social arm of the business.
With an advertising history spanning Canada, US, & UK, Joe has grown from helping put a small agency in Montreal on the map to building and leading Giant Spoon’s creative division. His portfolio of accomplishments, including spearheading some of the first commercial work for Adidas Originals & pioneering social strategies before social media, has established Joe as a leader in the creative space over the past two decades.
As Senior Vice President of Creative, Joe will have a global impact while being based out of Tommy’s Los Angeles office. Work has already begun with our existing clients with some exciting ideas in the pipeline. Bringing a new era of creativity, we’ll be growing our immersive, innovative, and digitally driven campaigns that captivate audiences worldwide.
When asked about his decision to join Tommy, Joe said, “I was drawn to Tommy’s culture and values, particularly their commitment to authenticity and community-driven work. I think the US market, in particular, is hungry for new ideas that defy the mediocrity of a lot of advertising today. I’m also excited to be attached to a bit of British innovation that can contribute to the vibrant creative landscape of California.”
As the industry shifts toward innovative and immersive marketing, Joe will leverage his expertise in storytelling and brand relevance to drive Tommy’s growth, establishing it as a hub for creative excellence. With a focus on putting distinctive work over blindly following the data, Joe aims to create impactful campaigns that not only break through the noise but also make a positive difference in people’s lives.
