Insight
While Rebel Moon’s story begins in far-off galaxies, its roots are grounded in a humble farming village. With farming games hugely popular among German audiences, Farming Simulator became the perfect gateway to this universe.
Strategy
Recreate the world of Veldt through a custom map in Farming Simulator 22, immersing fans with stunning visuals, Rebel Moon-themed gameplay, and a story that extended beyond the movie.
Idea
A fully interactive Farming Simulator event that combined gameplay with the Rebel Moon narrative:
- A modded map of Veldt using VFX assets, custom UI, and bespoke tools never seen before in the game.
- A story-driven mission where players worked to meet Admiral Noble’s impossible grain demands.
- A live-streamed Twitch event featuring nine diverse gaming influencers—including Farming Simulator experts, a cosplayer, a real farmer, and a German TV host.
Results
The campaign turned sci-fi into a community event:
1.62M minutes watched (equal to streaming Rebel Moon 12,000+ times).
10,000 live viewers stayed through the chaotic 3-hour challenge.
85% positive sentiment from engaged audiences.
And it didn’t stop there. The mod became available for fans to play themselves, sparking playthroughs on YouTube, Twitch, and fan-written articles on Wiki pages.
The Rebel Harvest expanded the Rebel Moon universe and invited fans to be part of the adventure.
